SLEEP?

We have not been getting a whole lot of sleep in the Norton Household lately. As you can imagine our nights are very unpredictable. We try to set as much of a routine as possible, but it just seems like the girls have their own ideas at night.

Here is a look at a normal day with the twins...we go for a walk in the morning with Mac, have a 20 min nap, play in the grass for a half hour, eat, nap for 20 min, have tummy time, listen to a story, eat, take another walk at 4:00... and then just try to survive doing whatever until bedtime at 8pm.

The girls have been going to sleep around 8:30, they usually sleep until 12:30am and then get up every other hour for the rest of the night. When they get up separately I can let Shawn sleep, but last night they only slept until 11pm and then got up together all night long. It was very hard on all of us. I am praying that tonight involves a little more sleep for everyone! The girls are healthy and happy! I am a bit grouchy...and Shawn started busy season so her has 12 hr work days ahead of him. Please keep us in your prayers as we try to get a little shut eye around here! They love their hands

Good Times

We go for 2 or 3 walks a day...they LOVE IT!
Sometimes it is the only way i can get them to stop cry'n!

At Godecke Clark (Shawn's work) the babies were a HIT! Even the BOSS MAN took a turn hold'n one of the Baby Nortons!

Shawn and I went for a night out on the town (OK, 3 hours) while our WONDERFUL FRIENDS
Joey and Rachael watched the girls.
We have been blessed with our friend Joey who makes time each week to come over for a few hours in the evening once a week to let me leave the house!
Bless her heart, I look forward to it all week!
Thanks Joey...we love you!

ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY!

During this photo shoot we were actually at our home! Our friend Janelle and her photographer friend came over to do some pics! The girls were only 2 weeks old and NOT IN A GOOD MOOD! We didn't get many shots of them not screaming, but overall it really didn't matter what they were doing in the pics they were so cute...

Lily and Rose had their 3 month old visit

We took the girls to see their Dr. for their 3month old check up and found out that they are just about exactly the same size...

Lily is 13-7lbs (65%tile) 23.5in (41%tile) Rose is 13-6lbs (64%tile) 23in (23%tile)

We are so proud of our growing girls...We just hope they start sleeping more at night.
We are trying the "cry yourself to sleep" method which is KILLING ME! I am starting to believe that it would just be better to cuddle them in my bed for the rest of their lives! HaHa!
We will keep you posted...so far it takes them an hour and a half to cry themselves to sleep. The first night I had to go downstairs to the garage and read out loud to drown out their cries. I hate hearing them cry. Wish us luck...

Auntie Sammy came to visit us last week and we had so much fun!
We can't wait for her to visit again!
Auntie Audra is coming this weekend, we are really excited to meet her too!

Rosie was too sleepy to sat good-bye to Auntie Sammy

My New Years GOAL...

I am going to try to blog every other day to keep you all in the loop as Shawn does an evening feeding.

Today the girls and I did the usual...nursing, napping, nursing, napping, tummy time, a walk outside in the 80degree weather, nursing, napping, than Daddy came home and we visited for a while. The girls are babbling a lot and Rosie is nearly rolling over on her own, while Lily just wants to work on her sitting in a seat skill. They are so different already. Rosie talks a lot more, Lily fusses a lot more. Rosie hates being burped, Lily doesn't really mind. They are so cute.

Christmas with Uncle Spencer and Grandma Karen

Grandma Karen and uncle Spencer flew down from MN for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Years. We had a great time seeing them again. We are growing so much and are very excited about everything lately. We are learning to hold hands, scream, kick, smile, coo, sit up, sleep for 3 hours straight...mom is happy about that, but wishes it was a little longer at night. We took many trips to the grocery store and to Target while Uncle and Grandma visited. It was a lot of fun!
Mommy even colored Spencer's hair!

Mommy and Daddy went away for a night to a 50's style Bed n Breakfast
while Grandma and Uncle watched us...

Grandma was sleepy too...
